New Year’s Eve Midnight Run, Costume Parade and Contest & Party at Central Park
Saturday Evening, December 31, 2016
What’s been an annual tradition will continue this year on Saturday, December 31st, 2016 as revelers and sports enthusiasts gather at the center of New York City’s gem of a park, Central Park to herald in the New Year.
The items in the following paragraph have yet to be confirmed for this year of 2016…so this is a listing from a previous year. Stay tuned for updates.
The festivities begin at 10:00 pm with dancing followed by a costume parade and contest at about 11:00 pm taking place at the Central Park Bandshell just south of Bethesda Plaza and the 72nd Street Cross Road. At exactly midnight the 4-mile run will begin as a fireworks ignite overhead. Yours truly has been to this area for a Summer Night’s display of fireworks and well, What a Treat! Seen from the Bethesda Terrace area this pyrotechnic display truly delights! Although we can’t guarantee that they’ll be shone into the night sky from the very same exact location.
